Campaign Slogans

I don’t like to dive into political debates too often if I can help it. Not because I’m dispassionate or uninvolved — quite the opposite — nor is it because I think anyone with differing views is wrong or stupid — again, quite the opposite. I just don’t have a lot of patience for people who are utterly uninformed, which is unfortunately the category into which most people fall.

However, there are moments in between all these inane debates and non-issues that make it all worthwhile. This morning, I came across an Obama tee shirt in a store window and it got me thinking about some other potentially disastrous campaign slogans that didn’t make the cut:

Huckabee uckabee bo buckabee, banana fana fo… oh.— The Grand Puba of failed campaign slogans.

And since I have the imagination of a seven year-old at times, this led to yet another unabashed moment of inappropriate and seemingly unprovoked public laughter.
